This book is definitely a book that I would recommend if you like paranormal activities, suspense and love.
Why you ask?
Sage Matthews returns home to Cryton to sort out her Nan’s belongings after her Nan is murdered. Detective Ethan Blade is the officer that is assigned to the case to find the murderer and to put an end to a serial killers spree as Celeste was the third victim before it becomes common knowledge to the public.
When Ethan goes to see Sage for the first time to inform her that he was the officer in charge of her Nan’s case and to find out if her Nan had any enemies that she knew of, he is instantly attracted to her and knows that it is a dangerous feeling to possess about a victims relative but on entering the shop the hairs on the back of his neck stand up and his pulse raced for no reason and he feels uneasy and he has no answer as to why he feels this way.
Sage has been having feeling of being watched too and and strange things have been happening to her in the shop and flat above, her Nan’s friends have been staying away and her cat Liquorice will not come in the building.
Sage and Ethan are drawn together even though Ethan tries to keep things professional. Sage has a feeling that he is someone that is special as when he touches her a calming effect comes over her. However, Ethan does not believe in the paranormal unknown so this throws spanners into their relationship from an early start, and with Sage being the Seer’s daughter – the paranormal are drawn to her like moths to a flame.
This story flows easily giving you goosebumps, I recommend reading this with the light ON or in daylight, as you start to see things that are not there and you may start to hear things too as the descriptions are very thorough. Athena’s writing style keeps you wanting to know what is going to happen next. There is passion, jealousy, suspense, murder, a paranormal investigation unit, witches and love all in these pages and I can honestly say that even though I received this as an ARC for an honest review that I can not wait for book 2 to be released as I need to know what happens as I was so drawn into the story.
Well Done Athena.
